    Responsibilities

    CARPENTER II

    Maintenance

    8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. – Monday through Friday

    Available on call or overtime as needed

     

     

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Works under normal supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor assisting in general maintenance duties, carpentry repairs, new construction and welding.

     

    PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Assists in all aspects of maintenance including carpentry, welding, electric wiring, plumbing, and painting including repairs and new construction needs.
    • Works as trim carpenter in finish work including hanging all types of doors.
    • Responsible for cabinet making and repairs.
    • Responsible for furniture making and repairs.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    Education and Experience:

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • 10 years carpentry experience 

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Physical ability to perform manual labor
    • Excellent carpentry skills
    • Painting skills desired
    • Excellent knowledge in all aspects of maintenance procedures
    • Ability to operate heavy machinery preferred
    • Vendor knowledge helpful 

    EQUIPMENT TO BE USED:

    • Various tools and equipment including hammers, saws, sanders, ladders, drills, power tools, nail guns, welding equipment, etc. 

    TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Able to lift 75 to 100 pounds
    • Must have good balance for working at various heights.
    • Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding.
    • Must be able to work in all extremes of temperature and weather.
    • Must be able to participate in long periods of highly strenuous physical activity associated with the construction industry.
    • Able to perform manual labor.
    • Must be able to pull, push, stand, sit, stoop, bend, reach, move or carry equipment.
    • Must be available to work overtime as needed which may include emergency service calls on nights and weekends. 

    TYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDS:

    • Must be safety conscious at all times
    • Must be able to perform basic math functions and use math and measurements.
    • Must adapt well to changes in production and time lines.

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    • Working indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions.
