Line Service Technician

Aviation

8:00am - 6:00pm Monday through Thursday

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager; assist Lead Line Service Technician with aircraft fueling, cleaning and stocking. Give support in Fuel farm services and inspections. Be available for all aircraft arrival and departures. Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, assist Aircraft Technicians with maintenance of aircraft housed at facility. 24/7 on call rotating shifts.

 

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Properly operate and maintain ground support equipment such as aircraft lavatory service cart, jacks, and ground power units.
  • Maintain inventory of consumable and production supplies needed to perform aircraft cleaning and Line Service.
  • Clean and detail aircraft. This requires knowledge of techniques to properly maintain interior and exterior of all aircraft that operate at KCM as listed below:
    • Provide care and service of all interior materials including leather
    • Maintain protective coating on all painted surfaces to promote the life of the paint finish
    • Properly care for carpet, including removal and reinstallation of carpet when needed for cleaning
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the hangar
  • Refuel aircraft per pilot and aircraft manufacturer specifications.
  • Relocate and park aircraft with tugs as needed.
  • Perform shop and equipment repair, maintenance, and upkeep(appearance)
  • Assist Aircraft Technicians with various aircraft maintenance project as needed

Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in the care and service of aircraft.

 Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be very meticulous with attention to detail
  • Above average strength, endurance, dexterity and coordination.
  • Proficient in all the areas listed under principle duties and responsibilities
  • Must be able to safely operate aircraft service equipment such as: auxiliary power unit; aircraft tug; power tools; mechanical hand tools/ paint spray equipment; tire/wheel maintenance equipment; electrical test equipment; and battery chargers.

  • Must maintain a good attendance record.
  • Current Texas Drivers’ License and good driving record
  • Must be available by phone and/or text 24/7 when On Call

  • Above average strength, endurance, dexterity and coordination
  • Able to Crouch, Kneel, bend, reach, and climb stairs
  • Able to lift up to 100 lbs.
  • Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to work in small, confined spaces for long periods of time.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Availability outside of normal work hours for rotating On Call schedule.
  • Extensive mandatory overtime may be required.
  • Must work in all types of weather conditions.
  • Work in hot and cold conditions
