TV Video Editor 1

Broadcast

8:00am - 6:00pm Monday through Thursday

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reports to the Broadcast Manager, under the supervision of the Senior Video Editor, working with producers, production assistants, and/or production teams, editing video projects for broadcast, websites, social media, and products as assigned. This position is both technical and creative.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide effective and skilled operation of computer based video editing using a variety of software applications
  • Assemble video and audio meeting set project goals and objectives from producer team, completion through graphics, titles, special effects, rendering, mixdown to needed media formats.
  • Complete projects on time as assigned, supporting the project direction from the producer and/or production team, collaborating ideas, to meet set goals and objectives.
  • Present creative solutions to conceptual, content-related editing projects

 

  • Support file structures and follow procedures for creating video masters and various media formats requested
  • Stay current with industry standards and informed of new technology and editing capabilities to incorporate into projects

Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

  • High School graduate with college degree in Multi-Media or Television, or equivalent video editing experience

Experience:

  • One year minimum experience in video editing for long and short format projects required.
  • Video resume requested

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of current video editing techniques and technology
  • Familiar with editing operations on a shared computer network
  • Understanding of file structures

 

EQUIPMENT TO BE USED:

  • Mac-based hardware
  • Software applications including, but not limited to, Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Audition, Photoshop, and Motion.

 

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Able to sit and work at a computer for a minimum of 7-1/2 hours per day.
  • Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard editing and office machines
  • Requires normal range or hearing and vision
  • Able to lift and carry 50 lbs.

 

TYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDS:

  • Must maintain focus and attention to detail to video and audio areas of proejct throughout the edit sessions
  • Ability to give, receive and analyze information, formulate work plans, prepare written materials and articulate goals and actions plans, as needed
  • Must be very organized, detailed, and able to multi-task
  • Must be a good verbal communicator and a team player
  • Must have a good attitude, flexible, accommodating, and work well with people at all levels
  • Must be able to adapt well in changing work situations
  • Must be able to grasp, apply and support new ideas with a positive attitude
  • Must understand instructions given (direct or implicit) and react favorably in all work situations
  • Must have good command of the English language and able to proofread work accurately

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Work in normal editing suite environment or office cubicle setting
  • Require flexibility in work schedule, must be willing to work second or third shift as scheduled
  • May be required to work overtime as scheduled

 

OTHER:

  • Born again believer and must adhere to the doctrines of this organization as upheld by Kenneth and Gloria Copeland and their appointed representatives
  • Must work well with others, as a team and according to Romans 16:17, must not cause dissension and division
  • Must maintain a good attendance record
