Communications Manager

The EMIC Communications Manager is responsible for overall strategy, development, budgeting, and execution of the marketing and communication efforts of EMIC.  This includes the presentation of image and all aspects of public relations to the EMIC Congregation, KCM Staff, local community, regional areas surrounding the ministry. This position is responsible for providing advertising expertise to the operational team.   This position also includes some service production elements, advertising, direct mail, TV, management of EMIC internet media, and special event promotions.    This position oversees the product development/advertising process from concept to implementation.  Under the direction of the Sr. Operations Manager, the Communications Manager will work closely with the various EMIC and KCM Departments to carry out the goals and mission of EMIC.



  • Coordinates communication to the congregation, EMIC/KCM staff, community and KCM Partners through the use of regular communication briefings, bulletins, sanctuary lobby, mailers, newspaper advertising, etc.
  • Develops an overall marketing and communication strategy for each calendar quarter to reflect the life of the Church.  Maintains this information in an EMIC Promotions Calendar and executes throughout the year.
  • Is able to research marketing and demographic trends, developing strategies that keep EMIC communications cutting-edge and relevant.
  • Works with a creative team of writers and graphic designers, whether in-house or out-of-house to creatively plan and finalize communications including but not limited to: billboard designs,  bulletins, brochures, posters and EMIC brand.
  • Coordinates product development for EMIC Pastors and Ministers in the forms of audio series, video product, books, podcasts, etc.
  • Oversees execution of branding document in all EMIC areas. 
  • Works with the Publishing Department Supervisor to troubleshoot and provide solutions for any delays, mishandling of jobs, unresolved communications, or any areas of concern for EMIC.
  • Works with the Sr. Operations Manager to troubleshoot and provide solutions to challenges within the processes and communications of the EMIC office.
  • Develops and maintains Communications/Marketing annual budget.
  • Analyzes statistics to determine the effectiveness of mailings and other promotion efforts.
  • Works with the KCM Marketing Team to enhance EMIC’s efforts and utilize KCM media avenues to promote the life of EMIC.
  • Works with the KCM Marketing Team to develop EMIC products that best represent the speaker and appeal in function and content that appeal to the desired audience from conception to completion.
  • Ensures that all communication to the congregation and community whether verbal or printed meets the appropriate level of excellence and is a true representation of the vision of Pastors George and Terri Pearsons.
  • Communicates to other departments within EMIC and KCM pertinent information regarding the life and projects of EMIC.
  • Works with other departments within EMIC to develop communication plans for each individual area.
  • Develops relationships with creative arts volunteers capable of assisting in writing, layout, design, photography, editing to explore new communications pieces and options.
  • Attend various meetings and services of EMIC in order to better communicate and advertise to the congregation the focus of that area.



Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or the equivalent in the field of Communications and Publishing preferred. 
    • Working knowledge of church public relations, communications and marketing plans needed to cooperate with growth in the church.
    • Knowledge of publishing software and interdepartmental communications a plus.
    • Sound understanding of communication strategies

  • Must be an excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be highly motivated and able to work with very little direction
  • Knowledge of Windows Office software, internet programs and related publishing software



Standard office equipment including PC & MAC computer, scanner, copier, fax, calculator, telephone, Adobe Creative Suite, FTP, etc.



Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines and equipment

Requires ability to sit 5 to 7 hours a day.




Must be able to grasp and clearly communicate the vision and life of EMIC.  Must be able to handle quick problem-solving issues and clearly communicate professionally under time limits and budget demands.  Handle matters decisively yet be unshaken by sudden changes or additions.



Must be able to manage multiple priorities with, at times, pressing timelines while maintaining positive relationships with co-workers.



  • Born again believer and must adhere to the doctrines of this organization as upheld by Kenneth and Gloria Copeland and their appointed representatives
  • Must work well with others, as a team and according to Romans 16:17, must not cause dissension and division
  • Must maintain a good attendance record
  • Must be a member of EMIC, regularly attend church services, and support the leadership of EMIC.
  • Must be a regular tither to EMIC.
  • Must possess a servant’s hear and operate as Armor Bearer.
  • Sensitive to needs of others, which includes a love and commitment to the members and congregation of EMIC and Kenneth Copeland Ministries staff.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to interact with diverse groups of people, considerable skill and diplomacy in communication.  Ability to build effective working relationships inside and outside departments or groups.
  • Self-motivated and takes initiative.  Ability to react with appropriate urgency to situations and events that require quick response or turnaround.
  • Operates with pre-emptive thinking and must be discerning and able to make good judgment calls with minimum supervision.
